CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas) is a public research body assigned to the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness under the Secretariat of State for Research, Development and Innovation, focusing on energy and environment and the technologies related to them.The Socio-Technical Research Centre within the Department of Environment of the CIEMAT integrates the knowledge and the methods of the social sciences with the socio-technical approach and the new approaches to the governance of risk, science and technology. Formed by researchers in the fields of psychology and sociology, CISOT has a special dedication to the study of the human and social dimensions of sustainability, risk and safety, energy and technology
